Naremburn Early Learning Centre
Three dead handsets on a Panasonic NS700 and staff on different floors unable to reach each other. Eight handsets over Wi-Fi, with no cabling work in a centre full of children.
The problem
The early learning centre, on Donnelly Road in Naremburn, had a Panasonic NS700 system. Three of the handsets had failed and weren’t being replaced. That left staff on different floors unable to reach each other quickly, especially in an emergency. The system was old enough that it was costing money without solving the problem.
What we installed
We set up eight Fanvil V66 Pro handsets, spread across the site. Instead of running cables through the building (an expensive exercise in a centre full of children), we configured them over Wi-Fi. A DrayTek router with a Wi-Fi extender covers the parts of the centre where signal was weak. All the handsets work from the existing network without disruption.
What changed
Staff can now reach each other instantly from any room. The handsets are recent enough that they work reliably. An emergency call goes through immediately, not through a struggling system. The centre didn’t need construction or cabling work, so there was no disruption to the kids. Cititel provides free remote support if anything breaks, so the centre doesn’t need to track down a technician.
