Morgan Advanced Materials
A worldwide manufacturer's NSW office, off a Samsung OfficeServ propped up by ATA adapters after the NBN cutover, and onto cloud for just under a third of the monthly bill.
The problem
Morgan Advanced Materials operates worldwide. Their New South Wales office runs out of Riverwood, and for years it ran on a Samsung OfficeServ 7200 that Cititel supplied and installed.
Then the NBN arrived. Their carrier converted the analogue lines to SIP and bridged them back into the Samsung through ATA adapters. It worked, but it is a translation layer sitting between a system built for copper and a network that no longer speaks it. Cititel kept the Samsung running through all of that.
What we installed
When the cloud system was ready, they asked for a straight comparison against what they were already paying. The quote covered the lot: new Yealink T54W handsets on every desk, a TP-Link router, the installation, and remote maintenance.
The comparison did the work. They moved quickly once they had the two numbers side by side.
What changed
They are on a full cloud system with all new hardware, and the monthly bill is just under a third of what they were paying before.
The support has been used, and used often. That is worth saying plainly, because free remote support only means something if the customer actually calls. They do, and it costs them nothing each time.
Why this one is worth reading
This is what the end of an old system usually looks like. Nothing failed. The Samsung was still working, propped up by adapters after the NBN cutover, and it would have kept working for a while yet. What changed the decision was seeing the real cost of keeping it next to the real cost of replacing it.
If you are running something similar, that is the comparison worth asking for.
